My daily reading brought me through the book of Lamentations this morning. And as you probably know, the book is not the most uplifting book to read. The Author of the book is crying out to God to deliver the people from His wrath that is being carried out by a neighboring nation and was caused by the people’s sin and rebellion.
However, I cam across this set of verses and it really touched me how the author in the midst of trials can look to see that God is still there and He has not forgotten about them.
I know that many are going through various trials now and that we can all use encouragement. I also know that sometimes that encouragement is not found in being delivered from the trial but just knowing that God has not forgotten you for forsaken you but that He is still there and still soveriegn.
So I leave with you these verses and pray that you are encouraged today. 🙂
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”
The LORD is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD.
