A Friendly Reminder To Pastors In The Pandemic

Honestly, being a pastor in this season has been thrilling. While at the same time, I have been amazed at how easy it has been to get caught up in all of the minutiae of mandates, hand sanitizers, and face masks. While all of that is extremely important, I want to refocus on a topic that I have not seen discussed very much. I want to take a moment to refocus on the calling of the pastor to share the Gospel.

Expositional Preaching @9MarksOnline @MarkDever

Expositional preaching is preaching in service to the Word. It presumes a belief in the authority of Scripture—that the Bible is actually God’s Word; but it is something much more than that. A commit ment to expositional preaching is a commitment to hear God’s Word—not just to affirm that it is God’s Word but to actually submit yourself to it.

Raising Leaders in the Church #discipleship @9MarksOnline @MarkDever

As a pastor, I am certain that I need to realize that, under God, the local church is responsible for raising up the next generation of leaders. No Bible college, course, or seminary can do this. And such raising up of new leaders—for here and abroad—should be one of the goals of our church.

CampusNews Thorough Gospel presentations bear fruit

I just received an email from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and I was in an article with one of my favorite professors, Dr. Matt Queen (@DrMattQueen).

As you would think, I am pretty stoked. I was very encouraged by the kind words of Dr. Queen and his wise words of instruction. I hope that it is an inspiration for others to go and intentionally seek the lost.
